The situation

What has happened

The spring range has landed and the fashion store window and front feature must be installed on Thursday night before the centre's spring launch weekend on 20 and 21 September. Hannah Lindqvist wants a display built around the sage linen shirt, the new footwear and a fresh colour story, with a sales target for the fortnight. The linen shirt has 41 units on hand and the new footwear is arriving Wednesday. Installation involves a ladder, mannequins, lighting and moving fixtures after close, and a team member strained her shoulder in the stockroom this week. Kai Tanaka must approve the plan before any fixture is moved.

Your brief. Plan the display on the visual merchandising display plan template with a clear objective, product story, stock check, budget, sales target and safety controls, obtain approval, install it safely and to the plan on Thursday night and set up the review so the display can be measured against its target.

What to look for

Evidence guide

The plan must show a clear objective, a product story with a focal point, stock quantities reconciled to the register, a budget, a sales target and installation hazards with controls. Approval must precede installation. Assess the installed display or its photographs for the focal point, ticket visibility, secured props and lighting on the product. The review must be set up to measure results.

The student's evidence summary lists every record they created or changed in the systems named above, their notes and the tasks they ticked. Verify it against the deliverables and your own assessment tool.
