Weekly Team Briefing Record Template
v1.4
Purpose. This template records the weekly team briefing held in each department, covering trade, promotions, safety, customer feedback and training, and provides evidence of consultation with team members.
1.How to use this template
The supervisor completes one record for each briefing. Keep the briefing to fifteen minutes at the start of a shift, cover the standing items, invite questions and record every issue raised and the action agreed. Team members who miss the briefing are updated individually within the week.
2.Standing items
Every briefing covers last week's results against target, this week's promotions and events, one safety topic, customer feedback received and any training due. Rotate the safety topic through the hazards in the WHS policy.
- Sales, availability and shrink against target
- Promotions, catalogue and display changes
- Safety topic and any incidents
- Customer feedback and complaints
- Training, rosters and leave
3.Issues and actions
Record each issue raised in the team member's words, the action agreed, the person responsible and the due date. Where an issue is a hazard, also complete an incident and hazard report form.
4.Attendance
Every team member present signs the attendance list. Students and labour hire workers on shift attend and sign.
5.Filing
Send the completed record to the People, Safety and Loss Prevention Manager within two business days. Records are kept for two years and reviewed at the quarterly safety committee.
